April 2017 NSW Masonic Club 5 The month of March has seen a welcome change to the Club’s Reagh Bar located on the ground floor. We have given everyone’s favourite bar a face lift, created a relaxing, eclectic bar lounge, introduced a Happy Hour from 5.30 – 6.30pm Tuesday to Friday, and specially-designed cocktails to complement our new Tapas Menu. Recently there has been a large increase in patrons enjoying an after work drink or snacking on our new and delicious share plates and the offer of $10 cocktails and 25% off all beer and wine during Happy Hour has guests thrilled! The Castlereagh Lounge, on Level 2, has just released a new menu, offering, for the first time in nearly a decade, “Roast of the Day”. This can be found on display in the lounge and sliced to order. Traditional meals cooked to prefection! Our classic new menu can also be ordered from the Reagh Bar. Keep your eyes open for some remarkable events in 2017. Opera Bites returns in May with “A Night In Paris”. They will perform on three dates this year, with three very different productions. Enjoy a night of great music and food, with the intimate experience of the cast wandering throughout the crowd and interacting with the guests, while performing some of the world’s best known operatic numbers. Opera Bites has generously offered Club Members a 20% discount to any of their productions - even cheaper than their early bird special! New in 2017, we step back in time to the 1920’s with the “Gin Mill Social”, a night of dancing, eating and drinking, with pop up performances throughout the evening. Indulge in a bespoke menu designed to transport you back in time when it was against the law to serve liquor and entry to these secret establishments was by invitation only. The “Gin Mill Social” is an event created by the very talented team at Slide, has a renowned following, and has been well fixated within Sydney’s cabaret society. Looking to establish Cellos as its new home, the “Gin Mill Social” will bring acknowledgement to the Club, introducing new patrons, creating publicity in new circles and expanding word of mouth about the amazing event spaces we provide. On June 24 you will have the chance to relive your childhood at the “Alice in Wonderland High Tea Party”. A beautiful and lavish backdrop, Cellos will be transformed into the Mad Hatters Tea Party and you’re all invited! Some unique characters will serve you whilst you dine on some delicious finger food such as petit and refreshing sandwiches, flavoursome savouries and naughty but delectable sweets. Dust off those beautiful bonnets and fascinators as prizes will be awarded to the following categories – “Most Lavish”, “Most Unconventional” and, not to alienate the men, an award will be given for the “Most Dapper” attire. We look forward to sharing more and exciting news this year!
