April 2018 NSW Masonic Club 13 Harmonious Staff For the third year running, our staff participated in Harmony Day on Wednesday 21 March 2018. Lead by General Manager, Paul Brasch in, March 2016 to bring staff closer together, Harmony Day is a celebration of our cultural diversity; a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home. It is a day to remind everyone that even though we are from different culture background and religion, we are one as Australians. It is a day to remind us to be thankful for the country we live in and how lucky we are to be able to live together as one in a peaceful country. The staff celebrated the day by bringing in their favourite food from their country of origin to share with other staff. Amongst the dishes were Thai chicken curry, pork dishes from the Philippines , Ceviche (prawn dish) from Ecuador, Chinese fried rice and noodles, homemade Portuguese tarts, Fijian’s Dhokla, Greek’s Spanakopita right through to Australia’s own chocolate brownies and lamingtons. All staff loved trying the speciality dishes and hearing the stories behind the significance of the dish and it’s cultural significance. This is an event which the staff eagerly look forward to each year with anticipation.
